About this page
You can ask for personal information held about you to be deleted. This page explains how to do that, what happens next, and the limited circumstances in which some information may need to be kept.
Deletion is one of several rights described in the Privacy Policy. You can also ask for a copy of what is held, or ask for it to be corrected, using the same contact details.
There is no fee, and you do not need to give a reason.
02
What information may be held about you
This website collects very little, so in most cases the answer is either nothing at all or a single email exchange. Specifically, the information that may exist is:
- Correspondence. If you have contacted us, that means your name, your email address and the content of your message, together with any reply.
- Server records. Standard web server records of requests, which can include an IP address, a timestamp, the address requested and information your browser reports about itself. These are kept only for a short period for security and diagnostic purposes.
There are no advertising profiles, no analytics records and no tracking data, because this website does not create any. If you have only read pages on this website and never contacted us, there is very unlikely to be anything identifying you beyond short lived server records that expire on their own.
The one item this website stores in your browser, the light or dark appearance setting, never reaches us. You can remove it yourself at any time by clearing site data in your browser, and no request to us is needed.
03
How to make a request
Send an email to [email protected] with the word “deletion” in the subject line.
04
What to include
So that the right records can be found, please include the following.
- The name and the email address you used when you contacted us, if they differ from the ones you are writing from.
- Roughly when the correspondence took place, if you remember.
- What you would like deleted, whether that is everything or a specific message or exchange.
If you are making the request on someone else's behalf, please include evidence that you are authorised to act for them.
05
Confirming who you are
Before deleting anything, we need to be reasonably satisfied that the request comes from the person it concerns. Ordinarily this is done simply by replying to the email address that appears in the records in question. If that is not possible, we may ask for a further piece of information to match against what is held.
We will not ask you for identity documents, payment details or a password. If you receive such a request purporting to come from us, treat it as fraudulent and tell us.
06
How long it takes
We aim to acknowledge a request when it arrives and to complete it within thirty days. If a request is complex, or if several requests arrive together, it may take longer; in that case we will tell you before the thirty days are up and explain why.
We will confirm in writing once the deletion has been carried out.
07
When information may need to be kept
In a small number of situations some information cannot be deleted immediately.
- Where the law requires it to be retained, for as long as that requirement lasts.
- Where it is needed to establish, exercise or defend a legal claim.
- A minimal record of the deletion request itself, so that we can show it was received and acted on. That record is kept to the smallest amount necessary for that purpose.
If any of these apply to your request, we will say so and explain which information is affected and why, rather than simply declining.
08
Information held by other parties
This page covers vmakol.com only. It does not reach information held by the separate ventures described on this website, including Edge-Forex, Nuvogen and the Road To A Million Club, or by any broker, payment provider or other organisation you have dealt with directly. Those are separate organisations and a request to them has to be made separately.
We also cannot delete information from search engine caches or internet archives, which are operated independently. Those have their own removal procedures.
09
If you are not satisfied
Please tell us first, at [email protected], so the matter can be looked at again.
If you remain unsatisfied you can complain to a data protection authority. In Canada that is the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada. If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you can complain to the supervisory authority for your country.
